In a proactive move, Ferrari has scheduled a three-day test in Barcelona, positioning themselves ahead of their competitors.
This announcement comes off the back of a significant week for the Italian squad, highlighted by Charles Leclerc’s commitment to a new multi-year contract, extending beyond the impending 2026 regulation changes.

The team also welcomed new members: Arthur Leclerc as a development driver and Oliver Bearman as a reserve driver, joining Antonio Giovinazzi and Robert Schwartman. This latest update coincided with the announcement that Ferrari’s drivers are starting a three-day Pirelli test next week before the official F1 test in Bahrain, which kicks off a week before the new season.
Ferrari gears up for Barcelona test
On January 29 and 30, Ferrari’s drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, will pilot the 2023 season SF-23, conducting tyre tests for Pirelli at the Catalunya Circuit.
The 29th will also mark Arthur Leclerc’s debut in an F1 car, driving the 2022 F1-75. The following day, Charles and Carlos will alternate between the 2023 and 2022 models, while January 31 will see Oliver Bearman driving the F1-75.
Ferrari is optimistic about these tests. It aims to rectify last season’s inconsistencies, which resulted in it falling behind Mercedes to third in the 2023 constructors’ standings.
