Christian Horner Red Bull Investigation

The inquiry into Christian Horner, accused of misconduct, is far from over following an inconclusive initial interview on Friday with the Red Bull Formula 1 team principal.

The investigation, started by Red Bull GmbH, the Austrian company behind the F1 outfit, was in response to claims of Horner’s manipulative and domineering behaviour.

During the session, Horner was questioned for over eight hours in London by an appointed external legal expert, marking the beginning of the investigation process.

Asserting his total denial of the charges, Horner is adamant about proving his innocence.

Since taking the helm in 2005, Horner, 50, has guided the Milton Keynes-based team to numerous victories, including seven drivers’ championships and six constructors’ titles in his 19-year tenure.

The interview took place shortly before the team unveiled their 2024 season car, scheduled six days later on February 15, though the investigation’s timing seems unrelated.

With the F1 pre-season testing set to start on February 20 in Bahrain and the season opener on March 2 at the same venue, the situation presents a challenging time for the team. Nonetheless, ensuring fairness for everyone involved remains the investigation’s primary focus.

Red Bull officially announced the ongoing investigation on Monday, stating: “After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation.

“This process, which is already under way, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister.

“The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”
