One month after debuting their team livery for the 2024 season, which prominently featured their signature papaya orange, the Woking team conducted a grand unveiling of the car on Wednesday morning.

The reveal was strategically timed at 08:38 GMT, referencing the car’s name and showcasing the car that Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will drive this season.

With the MCL38, McLaren aims to build on their recent positive momentum, overcoming a challenging start in 2023 with a significant mid-season upgrade. This turnaround transformed them from contenders for minor points to competitors for podium positions.

By the season’s conclusion, under Andrea Stella’s leadership, the team had ascended to fourth place in the constructors’ championship, surpassing Aston Martin and trailing behind powerhouses Red Bull, Mercedes, and Ferrari.

Strategic changes and the recruitment of notable figures such as Rob Marshall, formerly of Red Bull, and David Sanchez from Ferrari, who focused on engineering and aerodynamics, respectively, further enhanced the team’s preparation for 2024.

With McLaren’s unveiling, only two teams remain to reveal their cars for the new season. Mercedes is scheduled for a reveal later the same Wednesday, and the reigning champions, Red Bull, are set for a Thursday launch.
